“This covenant is a testament to the strength of collaboration, as we work together in faith, justice, and love on behalf of the Jefferson City community,” said Scott Johnston, President of the Housing the Community – Jefferson City board.
Pastor Melissa Hatfield eloquently shared with her congregation, “God of justice and mercy, You call us to love our neighbors as ourselves, to seek the good of our communities, and to open doors and hearts for our siblings in need. Today, we covenant with You and each other to be Your hands and feet in unlocking housing for all.”
HCJC is deeply grateful for these partnerships and the opportunity to serve alongside First Baptist Church. As Pastor Hatfield also shared, “We acknowledge that housing is not just a structure but a place of belonging, dignity, and hope.”
Housing the Community – Jefferson City looks forward to the next three years of shared ministry, trust, and perseverance as we work toward a future where everyone has a place to call home.”
