With Your Help, We are Making Our Area a Better Place

An ongoing issue in Jefferson City is how to address the shortage of affordable housing and provide support for those who are unsheltered. In 2011, local churches responded by founding the Homeless Task Force with the intention of tackling this problem from a grassroots level. This organization has since grown through community engagement from individuals, social service agencies, faith-based groups, and city representatives. Project Homeless Connect has been the flagship event of this group, demonstrating their dedication to individuals experiencing homelessness. As the need for permanent and transitional housing becomes critical, the focus of this group expands and an official organization called Housing the Community Jefferson City (HCJC) has risen to the call. HCJC is dedicated to mobilizing our community’s resources to create sustainable housing solutions for those in our city impacted by homelessness. Join us as we grow a more inclusive and supportive community for all.
